How to find us

Our offices (marked red on the map below) are located at the “Südgelände” of the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg (address above). You can reach us in any of the following ways:

By plane

The closest airport is the airport of Nürnberg (marked blue on the map below). From here you can go by taxi (charges of about 30 €) or by bus. If you want to go by bus, take bus line 32 to “Thon”, there switch to bus line 30 or 30 E to “Erlangen Hugenottenplatz”. Exit at “Erlangen Süd” and walk up the Egerlandstraße and then up the Erwin-Rommel-Straße. On the right side of the Erwin-Rommel-Straße, near the bus station “Sebaldussiedlung”, you will find the biology and physics institutes.

By train

Exit at railway station “Erlangen Hauptbahnhof” (marked on the map below). From here you can either go by taxi (charges of about 11 €) or by bus. For the bus connection to the “Südgelände” go by bus line 287 or 293. Exit “Sebaldussiedlung” (marked on the map below), which is the closest bus stop to us.

By car

There are two highways around Erlangen – A3 (Würzburg-München) and A73 (Nürnberg–Bamberg).

Highway A3:
Leave the highway at “Erlangen-Tennenlohe” in direction Erlangen (Bundesstraße B4). Exit B4 at “Gräfenberg/Universität-Südgelände”.

Highway A73:
Leave the highway at “Erlangen-Bruck”. Turn right in direction Gräfenberg (Bundesstraße B4). Exit B4 at “Gräfenberg/Universität-Südgelände”.

Now follow the signs to “Universität Südgelände”. Keep straight on, pass Cauer-Straße and Erwin-Rommel-Straße. Turn left to the Staudtstraße at the traffic light (sign: “Universität Physik/Biologie”). Turn off at the next intersections. Now the parking garage is in front of you and our institute is on your right side.
